Re: more on eBay ... (Tue Jul 3 22:12:55 2001 )

I know I should not respond to this thread, as it
does not concern me, but I feel that Ebay is a
very reasonable place to sell itmes. The site is
often put under the gun here, and it's just a
little confusing to me. They are a very big
company, and their website is viewed by everyone
around the world. There are many people in the
world who would choose to use Ebay, and their
services for the wrong purposes, hence the strict
rules.

I have not had a problem selling on Ebay, yet,
and I feel their rules are, for the most part,
very fair. If I read correctly, you are angry
because they dont want you advertising your sites
and more things you might have for sale. This is
understandable that you want people to know you
have things for sale, but Ebay is strictly for
auction purposes, and strictly for their own
services. I can sympathize with them not wanting
people to advertise their own sites while running
an auction. This is sort of free advertising for
you to make sales, when Ebay does not benefit
from it. So, naturally, they get mad at that.

I dont know, Ebay seems okay to me, and I love to
search for rare items, like cels, on their site.
It's the best one so far, Yahoo just doesnt get
the traffic that Ebay does, so, they are a lot
less wary of their users. Im not saying you, or
Ebay is in the wrong, but, think of it from both
ends. They need to make money to run the site
and the business, and they need to make it fair
for everyone. But, it's kind of dumb that they
took all your auctions down, they should have
notified you way beforehad. And, I have seen
many, many places advertise their stores while
running auctions. It is a wierd matter. Good
luck with them, hope it goes better for you from
now on. Im sure I will have my share of trouble
with them before my selling days are up...
