Most of the auctions left seem to have that "you
need to show proof you are over 18" rule stated
in their description...one would think that would
be an obvious thing with yaoi, but meh. Of
course, the reality is, 90 percent of yaoi
fangirls are under-aged, and eBay really was an
easy place to grab some nice yaoi without getting
the Spanish Inquisition. Maybe now they're trying
to enforce it? My feeling is, it's the seller's
responsibility and choice, but I could understand
that eBay would be liable if any frightened
mother with a large stick up her ass decided that
their 13 year old girl did a no-no (of course,
the mother is in no way liable, even though the
child is under her care...yeesh, people, if
you're that upset about it, pay attention to what
your kids are doing on-line in the first place.
That's what filters are for ;p).
Anyone remember Ai no Kuusou, one of the largest
doujinshi galleries on-line? It got shut down for
the same reasons...a mother found her child ( a
boy, in fact) had printed out some of the dirtier
pictures and had them in his room. She freaked ou
and threatened legal action, and despite the many
many disclaimers on the site, the webmaster shut
it down out of fear. I hold a special place in my
heart for Ai no Kuusou, which prompted me to buy
my first doujin...a wonderful GW story
called "American Hot Dog Press"...what a truly
great doujinshi XD
But, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.
Ja!
