Um... not to be a wet blanket or anything but...

It really makes me kinda sad to think that you 
would be surprised that someone so "old" as 45 
(I'm 44) wouldn't get anime.  Geez, we grew up in 
the 60's and 70's after all, you can't believe 
the weirdness we lived with.  The spousal unit is 
48, and he has his office plastered with Lain 
stuff and the theme song from Knights of Ramune 
blasting half the time.

One of the things I enjoyed so much about AX was 
seeing that there were people there from about 
three years old to around 65 or so, and we were 
all just anime fans. Just 'cos the outside is 
starting to grey a bit doesn't mean that the 
inside isn't still 14 or 15 at heart :)
