I agree... the lack of kanji made me jump at the 
first meaning of "kaku", but it also has "to 
draw" as one of its other meanings.

Also, a friend mentioned that 
mutsukashi/mutsukashii/mutsukashiin are all the 
same.  so:

mutsukashiin...  sumimasen (;) kakenai (;;)

"[it was] difficult...  I'm sorry (;) I can't 
draw (;;)"
