Hotmail accounts are not varifiable and also 
have a tendency to lose emails, so there is a 
possibility that Carol is not getting your emails 
or that she abandoned that account.
You need to find out what her real email address 
is.  Do a search on this bulletin board, you are 
bound to find some of her posts and hopefully 
her real email address. 
Also, she is a child under the age of 18 (I think 
that she is 16) and you can't take her to small 
claims court.  Legally children cannot enter into 
a binding sales contract, that is one reason why 
they are not allowed to sell on eBay and any deal 
you make with a child is not binding and legally 
void.  Though this law is to protect children from 
being manipulated by adults it also provides 
them with a loophole to commit crimes which in 
most cases the get off home free.
