I am wondering if anyone else has any cels that 
they cherish as much for what went into getting 
them the cel as they do for the image itself.

For example, one of my favorite cels in my 
collection is not one of my most expensive.

There was a cel from a sequence I love but I 
couldn't afford the $850 the seller was asking 
for one cel. So, I kept looking and found another 
cel from the same sequence for a lot less. 
Anyway, I wanted it so badly and I wrote right 
away to the seller. However, she told me it was 
already on reserve.

I put my name on the list and waited to see if 
the buyer would back out. Of course I desperately 
hoped the other buyer would, and I kept checking 
the seller's site everyday waiting to see if the 
cel ever came off of hold (either as being sold 
or a fall through).

One day, I came home from work and there was a 
present (the size of a cel) with my name on it! 
Now my birthday had been about a week before, and 
I already had gotten my presents. Much to my 
surprise and delight, when I opened the package, 
it was the cel I was in line for!

My sister had bought me the cel, hidden the info 
from me despite how much trouble she has keeping 
a secret, and gave me an awesome belated birthday 
present.

Now, every time I see that cel, I think of that 
story  *sniff* 

Anyway, I'd love to hear other people's stories.  
I bet there have to be a lot out there!
