I own about 10 of the Evangelion Celluclub cels.
They are presented in a wide-screen format, so 
they are somewhat more rectangular.

You are right about them being somewhat 
transparent, light shines through them if you 
hold it up against a window. So, I just back all 
of mine with acid-free white paper, which takes 
care of the problem. Also, they are much thinner 
in thickness compared to original production 
cels, so you have to be careful with them (aka: 
they bend or crease very easily!) 

However, they look great. I have 3 of them framed 
on my wall, and from 3 feet away, they look 
absolutely real. Only under close inspection can 
you tell that it is not paint, but machine 
printed. 

So yes, I love them. Becides, there is no way I 
can afford an original production (let alone find 
a good one!) So these are your best bet.

By the way, The five limited edition hand painted 
reproductions are incredible. I own the hand-
painted Rei, and it is absolutely stunning. Well 
worth the price.
