This is not true.  There are many laser backgrounds 
that are original production backgrounds, used in 
the film.  The backgrounds are not hand-painted 
though and are CG instead.

Just because you get a laser background, doesn't 
mean it is a copy by any means.  Although a seller 
usually will clarify this for you.
