My roomies and I met on the Forum to split a room 
at Sakura Con.  Pretty much for the same reasons 
you stated:
1) wanted to room with other cel collectors
2) wanted to room with people we (at least 
vaguely) knew!

I couldn't have trusted a rooming arrangement with 
a total stranger from the hinterlands of 
cyberspace.

PS---As it was, one of my roomies (who shall 
remain nameless) still slept with her cels 
clutched to her chest and mumbled, 
"..no....NO....stay away....MY Kamidakes!...... 
no....I won't trade them for Pocky...."  Ooops!!
