I think that is the point.  You gotta bid what
you can humanly afford ^^.  Also, you gotta keep
in mind that just because someone bid early on
say...$100, that doesn't mean that someone at the
last minute doesn't bid $300.  So, I don't think
it helps you any to know what the bid is
at...since a lot of people may wait until the 18th
or 19th to place the bid.

  When bidding on an auction like this (i.e. may
potentially involve lots of money), even if it is
a blind, one time auction, I wait until a little
later to bid because you never know if sometime in
between the beginning and end of the auction that
something else wonderful comes along...so I
totally don't think it'll help me at know what the
"current" bid is at...
