As I was introducting myself to the ..."joys"....
of scanning cels and building web pages, I fought
with many a stuck sketch. Two thoughts came to
mine.
1) I wonder if the reason that most Tenchi cels do
not come with matching sketches is because the
cels were improperly stored by the studio, and so
most of the matching sketches were destroyed when
removed? An awful lot of my older Tenchi's have a
layer of shredded, stuck paper just the image.
2) Some of my cels have an extra layer of black
paint behind the image. Is this to protect the
original paint from "stuck sketch" damage? The
black paint always looks like it was quickly
applied, and it stays well within the lines of the
original image. Has anyone seen a pattern as to
which cels are more likely to have this protective
paint layer?
Does anyone have anything to add?
Oh, and so far, I like TK's idea of wetting a
sketch for easy removal the best! ^_^
