Hello
I noticed the same thing you did, but I have a
slightly different view on it.
This is just my idea, but look at it like this:
Suppose you are an old-time collector and have
a big collection which you love very much.
You didn't pay a lot for these cels, but you got
them early and most likely from the source.
It never occurred to you that they could be worth
a lot of money.
So, you need some cash so you list a few of the
ones you don't like so much for sale. And they go
for prices you had never dreamed possible. So, you
start looking at the rest of your collection. Now
you are considering selling cels that you REALLY
like, but you need the money and there are
obviously people willing to pay it. Perhaps you
don't WANT to sell them, but for a certain price,
you would be foolish not to. So you list the
starting bid as the price that you would like for
it, and if it doesn't sell, you don't mind too
much.
This is all theoretical, but I like to think of
this particular situaiton as a collector who has
suddenly realized their collection is worth a lot
more than they thought and they are making
sacrifices of cels they truly love because they
need the money.
I mean, I could be in the same boat one day. Even
my beloved Goddess Washuu could be sold for the
right price (before you ask, it is in the multiple
thousands $$$). If I was in need of money, I
would rather sell a few cels for a high price than
have to sell many many cels from my collection.
Just a thought.
