I agree, I think most of this could have been
handled between the parties involved.
However, as it has been brought up, here's my
$0.02.
It is easy to get multiple accounts on e-bay, and
shill bidding has been happening almost since e-
bay started. It's a fact. It probably isn't going
to change as e-bay is too big to verify *every*
single account.
Yes, reporting shill bidding is important, but
let's face it, it's not going to stop. So, report
it if you see it.
More importantly, I think, is never bid more than
you actually want to pay. NEVER. No matter how
good the cel is, no matter who might snatch it
from you.
I think evilminion posted a while back that she
puts in her max bid and just lets the auction go
from there. I think that's sage advice. Even if
you wait until the end to post that bid, as long
as you know what it is, you never truly pay more
than you should for a cel because you got caught
in the heat of the moment.
Bids should sort of be like Buy It Now prices. If
you'd buy it now for that amount, bid it. If you
wouldn't, why would you put that in as your bid
anyway? |
