Here at least you can avoid some fees. ^_^ This
won't work with a big library, but probably will
with a small to even medium-sized one. Stick the
books in a bookbag and bring them back into the
library. They're desensatized, so you won't set
off any detectors. Without letting anyone see you,
put the books back on the shelf where they
belong. Then wait until you get the next late
notice (or if you've gotten a notice recently,
you can use that one). Call them and tell them
that the books were left in their after hours
drop box (all libraries have these now!) and that
they really need to check their shelves. ^_^ Most
libraries, upon finding the books, will simply
say "oops" and be happy they have the books.
Or if your library does the food donations
instead of fines thing at Thanksgiving, just wait
for November. ^_^;;;
Of course, if you like your library, you can just
pay the $35 in fines and know that it's going to
a good thing. But double check that the library
gets to keep the fines. My hometown is bastard
enough that not only have they voted down funding
for upgrading the library for a *fifth* year
running now, they also don't even let the library
keep overdue fine money. >_<
Okay. . . I'll stop being off-topic now. ^_^ I'm
really sorry to hear about your cels though!!! Is
there any chance that this was an Ebay auction? I
know that Ebay has some protections for things
like non-receipt of goods. . . . You may not be
able to prove that you *didn't* receive it, but
they can't prove that they sent it either.
Many Sharp Smiles,
