depends on how much experience you have ^_^;;  i'm 
not fond of geocities, but mainly because of 
their little quirks and oddities (yes, i started 
with my poor page there).  the server i'm madly in 
love with is freedom to surf (www.f2s.com), mainly 
because they're ad-free and have support for CGI, 
PHP, mySQL, etc...  there are other such servers 
out there, too.  i've heard digitalrice is good, 
and redrival.  but you need to know how to code 
your own pages and ftp them ^_^;;
