Hey, everyone's free to do what they want, it's
impossible to control the world -- but it's
understandable to be irritated with speculators.
I've never heard of a case where this sort of
behaviour actually helps a market, be it (damn,
this has to be my favorite example) tulips to
comic books or sports cards to Pokemon. When you
get too many speculators in an area, prices
increase simply because people think they will
get more for it in the future. The market become
artifically inflated, and eventually crashes like
any pyramid scheme. As seen with the Dragonball
cel ilovelefty tried to sell, there eventually
reaches a point where speculators lose money,
because the prices are too high to accept
increases.
Unlike dealers, who actually do something to get
their cels other than wait around for other
dealer's updates, I doubt that Ilovelefty will
try and weather the hard parts out, and will just
move to another market. |
