This is an amusing thread but truth be told we
had a hard life back then.
For one thing if we wanted to heat up our food we
had to use a regular oven since there were no
microwave ovens. My "home computer" was very
limiting with 16K of memory although it had an
amazing 16 colors! Woo Hoo!
I had to use a cassette player to store my
programs which took a long time and didn't always
record properly. Computer magazines did give us
free programs to TYPE in though which was nice.
I remember when VCRs weighed 40 pounds and cost
$1400 (in todays money about $2500).
Those "Japanimation" overseas tapes cost over
$100 each. Who could afford that?
We had no toilet paper back then....whoops those
were in my dad's days. Sorry. Anyway....it was
very tough for us older folks. ^_^
Terence who is 34.
I'm wondering...if songs from my era are on an
oldies station... does that make me an oldie? |
