I don't wish to be "exiled" from this board by 
all of you, but I have to say a word or two. Now, 
I've read about every one of these posts about 
how high prices are and that it's unjust to sell 
them in hopes of making a profit and am I'm going 
crazy.  It seems that there is a great deal of 
you (trying not to be mean, remember that) that 
want things in life dirt cheap.  And if not 
cheap, at least reasonable.  But you fail to 
understand what reasonable actually is, 
forgetting that it is only a price that is 
affordable to you.  So, when you see a cel that 
is up there in price and can't afford, you can't 
get mad and call the price outrageous.  Remember, 
as long as there is demand then someone can ask a 
certain price.

You need to consider the scenario that you are 
all art dealers (basically we are).  Quality is a 
main factor to price as well as rarity.  I mean, 
how often do you see people paying only a few 
thousand for a picasso.  It just doesn't happen.  
Now, as for why the Lodoss cels (Asylum's update) 
are so much is the main fact that they are truly 
beautiful cels and that there is some, the right 
person, out there who is willing to pay for it.

Now as for the margin of profit, it's based on 
standard economy.  Face it, we all want money.  
It allows us to live our lives. If someone pays 
$2500 for a cel and is able to turn it for $5000, 
then good for them.  Sure they just made a hefty 
profit, but what about all the times when their 
purchases are not sold and they have to eat the 
cost they pay for some cels.  There is an 
equilibrium for the way all things work out.  And 
also, as for the mistake Asylum made as to 
identifying a cel, lay off.  You and I and 
everybody in this world screws up once in a 
while.  Heck, I've probably many numerous typos 
already.

All in all, cel collecting should be about having 
fun and enjoying what you get.  I'm a quite often 
broke-ass 16 yr. old that has to scrape for money 
to buy decent cels.  Though I don't complain 
because I can't control prices.  I'm pretty sure 
none of you can either (unless you got some magic 
powers in which case I'm sure you have some great 
cels anyway).  So quit complaining and enjoy what 
you can get.  Just remember it's cool to dream, 
but not get mad because you can't have everything 
you want.
