i recommend www.f2s.com.  i've looked over a 
number of free hosting services, been on 
geocities >_<, and really like these guys.  no 
ads!  the drawback is that you *really* need to 
know what you're doing.  upload is by ftp only, 
and they don't give you any HTML templates, 
wizards, or anything like that.
