I think the difference between the argument
about splitting up the Lodoss and Ghibli cels
(the Asylum argument a while back) and their
douga had to do with the price of the cels on
an average... cels from Mononoke Hime or
Lodoss OAV (and I think this covered Nadesico
too?) are VERY expensive overall, especially
for certain characters... Dragonball cels
cannot (on the average, I know there are some
"rare" characters, although I still think they
don't compare pricewise to, say, an A-quality
Mononoke Hime cel) even BEGIN to compare 
pricewise.  You can get nice DB cels for under
$100.  Therefore, splitting up the dougas from
the cels cannot be explained as "trying to make
the artwork affordable to less-fortunate
collectors."  It's just trying to pad the pockets
with a little more money from each piece of
animation.  (Which, again, he has a right to
do as they are his cels... but, as a former 
owner of a small family-run business, I believe
customer service / appreciation and honesty
are the keys to any transaction, and I wouldn't
care to do business in such a matter with someone
who just thinks of me as a wallet with feet.)
