I think if the Internet Guide to Anime Cels were
still being updated it would be a big hassle to
do. It might have been easy to do 3 1/2 to 4
years ago when the number of cel dealers were few
and the number of cel galleries was around 45,
but it wouldn't be easy at all now.
I was trying to keep track of cel galleries
myself for awhile, but I gave up in November. Cel
galleries frequently change names, change website
locations, change from a cel gallery to a non-cel
gallery, sometimes get erased (Nbci) etc. Then
you have the cel galleries that are supposed to
have anime cels in them, but never add any to the
page. Then there are the dead cel pages that you
can't tell are dead until you click the links
because the main page is still working. There are
cel galleries that are down one day and up
another so they weren't really a dead link, etc.
And lastly there are cel galleries that are down
for renovations that may or may not return (how
long do you wait before it looks like it'll never
return....1 year? I know one cel gallery that was
updated after nearly 2 years.)
It is a lot of work and I couldn't blame him at
all if he just moved on. Fortunately there are a
lot of good cel links at Cels.Org.
Yann...are people still e-mailing you every now
and then about dead links on Cels.Org? It would
be ridiculous to expect you to go through all
those links yourself considering the short time
it takes before another link goes down.
