Interesting Yahoo! Japan auctions... Kodomo no Omocha Inu Yasha (Fri Jan 12 14:49:54 2001 )
California Boy

elotaku@yahoo.com

I am fairly new to cel collecting and have just
recently started looking at overseas cels.

Scanning through Yahoo! Japan Auctions (despite
knowing absolutely no Japanese), I have come
across some interesting cels that one of you may
be interested in:

Fabulous Kodomo no Omocha cel with background:

Fairly affordable Inu Yasha cel:

You will probably need to deal through a Deputy
(middle-man) service. I heard that CelGa still
accepts requests, so you should probably use him
if possible.

The other alternative is ACJ, which I mentioned
previously. If you like, here is the original
message below:

I have never used a Deputy service before, so I
have no base of reference to judge how good any
service is.

However, I came close a few times and considered
this service, Anime & Comic Japan,

They do charge a 20% commission on the total cost
of the transaction (cost of product, cost of
shipping from seller to ACJ, cost of shipping
from ACJ to you, bank transfer fees, etc.). From
what I have read of CelGa's pricing, this still
might be cheaper than CelGa (although I never
used CelGa before, either).

They also can place bids for you on Yahoo! Japan
auctions. Same rules apply.

WARNING, though. Ideally, you should e-mail ACJ
at least one week before the sale of your desired
item ends. And your e-mail must detail a
definite commitment to purchase your desired item
(include your name, address, maximum price,
etc.). Their response time can be slow.

Furthermore, you should send both an e-mail PLUS
fill out and submit their electronic order form
from their web site. You will have to do this
eventually, anyway, because they will require
your credit card information. Do this right away
if your desired auction ends soon.

Do I recommend ACJ? Since I never ordered
through them, I cannot say and I make no
guarantees. But they are legitimate, as far I
can tell.

Normally, I wouldn't bother mentioning ACJ, but
it seems like some of you are in dire need of a
middle-man.

Hope this information will be useful to you.

(And whoever bought that fabulous Initial D cel
from Jinx, please e-mail me if you ever consider
reselling it!!!)
