Here's a little help.  Make a seperate and smaller image of each cel (thumbnail).
As you page is,  people must load all the big images.  Even though it looks like 
you are only loading small pics.   You have only resized your larger scans.  
Yes, it is more work to make small scans for every cel but it makes things load faster.
Plus you can save your images at resolution set at 75.  Which is what is common for 
web images and is fine for large area of colors type things like cels.   Hehe hope that 
makes sense.  I am by no means an expert but that is one thing I work on --->  Making 
my page load quickly (I'm on  a56k modem  -_-).
