Something I've noticed since I started to collect cels
and peruse other people's galleries is that there seems to
be more female fans who collect cels than there are in
other areas of anime fandom.  Most of the guys I know
who are into anime would rather collect LDs/DVDs or models
than cels.  I'm not sure how many cel galleries I've been
to where the site's owner is gushing over a cel of some
bishonen male character, but I've seen quite a few.  It seems like most male anime fans just don't care as much about cels, or maybe they just aren't as vocal.  ;)  This
is just an observation.
