Yes, I knew about the Rankin/Bass versus Bakshi thing ^_^ 
saw a screenshot of LotR by Bakshi and it looked HORRIBLE - 
I mean, in the same league as the fourth episode of Hakkenden! 
LOL

I didn't know until a couple months ago that Rankin/Bass 
(or just one of them) also did Thundercats. I'm STILL kicking 
myself that I didn't bid on that Thundercats cel way back when 
on EBay. grr. Oh well. We've all let a Big One slip right 
through our fingers, right? ^_^
