i remember for years that anime was called ( in ohio at least)
japanimation... i wondered at the time if it would be considered
a slur, then it gradually changed to anime/manga. 
About buying cels on a Japanese auction, i have no real problem
with it most of the time, as many people don't look at the japanese
auctions, or can't from japanese sellers who don;t sell outside
of japan.  I do have a problem with people who buy the cels then 
put it in ebay at an already marked up price!
