What's so disgusting about Maze?  It is classified as adult
 anime - rated PG-13 by american standards in my opinion.
There is the standard adult oriented stuff, such as implied
 lesbianism, implied womanizing, nudity and implied nudity.
All these things are quite prominent in many anime!
There was never any relationship implied between male and
female Maze at all.  They came from a home with violent 
parents and all they had was each other; there was never any
sex between them.  
I am not going to give away the ending for those that haven't
seen the show, just that they end up being happy together and
there is no sex and relationship of that kind at all.
