Hey, if you think they're too high, just don't
bid. It's his merchandise, he can set the price
to whatever he wants. Let your dollar do the
voting.
As for the whole Yahoo contriversy, not too long
ago Steven was lambasting dealers for similar
behaviour. Check it out in the May '99 archives
under Steven Labadessa or Ebay Auction - Deedlit
(an affordable alternative). It started off as a
discussion on fan cels. Most of his negative
comments about dealers occur towards the end.
Here are my favorites:
"Well, I see many of your are blinded by your own
preconceptions.
You seem to think it is your divine right to
police the world to protect your
investments, which many of you sell at
ridiculously high costs."
"YOU SHOULD ALL LOOK AT WHY YOU COLLECT(which
many of you probably don't).
YOU SEEM TO BE VERY PETTY AND GREEDY PEOPLE."
"I love the way, some of you, mark up those
prices. Many of you are a bunch of hypocrites."
(Most of this in response to people's requests
that he sign his reproduction cel so that it
wouldn't be mistaken for the genuine article.
Read the archives, because some of it might be
taken out of context reading it like this).
A man who says these things wouldn't turn around
and screw people, would he?
