Dear Aimee,
Yes, cel bags do eventually stick to cels after
awhile. However, this is usually not a problem
for me anyway. Some collectors like to replace
cel bags every once in awhile to air out a cel
since the cel paints do give off some sort of gas
over time. If the cel bags do stick, they are
very easy to remove later and replace with another
bag. Because cel bags are (or should) be made of
the poly type of plastic (the archival type of
plastic that does not give off gases/fumes that
later ruin the material it is protecting), it
should be relatively safe to let them stick to the
cel and later remove it if one desires. Other
collectors prefer to let their cels stick to a
piece of paper that is NOT the sketch instead of
a bag, but if you go this route, I suggest the
acid free paper.
It's up to you, but like I said, I sort of prefer
my cels to stick to a cel bag surface because if
I ever did want to separate them, it will be easy
to do so. I hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Sonia |
