There is one other distinguishing feature that I forgot to
mention - gengas also sometimes have camera directions on
them. These could range anywhere from written directions to
(more commonly) boxes drawn on the genga to show where the
camera should be focused when photographing the finished
cel. You may see more than one box if there is a zooming in
or out in a particular scene; one to show where the camera
should start, the other to show where it should stop.
Multiple boxes also appear on very large pan gengas
(the initial drawing for pan scenes). Again, the first box
would indicate where the camera would start, and the
second where the pan action should stop. |
