I bought my first two cels at about $50 each and I thought that was *SO* much money! After those two, I refused to pay more than $50 for a single cel. I did pretty well for several months until I saw my first cel of Kaori in her black dress on eBay and I freaked and bid $150 on it! It ended up at $88 and suddenly $100 didn't seem too far away! I just keep progressing like that..... Now, I'm so far gone that paying $100-$200 doesn't really phase me. At $300 I wince, swallow hard, and pay up. :) At $400-$500, I usually pass and I don't currently have any that cost that much in my collection. I really think that $500 is too much to pay for a cel...for now. :) >>Plus the mentality of "Gotta get it now or it'll be >>gone!" can be misleading-as some people have said, it >>takes a lot of cels to make up a series. Well, I operate on the mentality of "Gotta get it now or it'll be gone - I can always sell it later if I find a better one!" There have been some cels in the past that I passed on, thinking that I would find a better one and never did - or, if i did, it would be for an insane price that I couldn't afford. In my opinion, it's best to pounce and think later. ^_^ >>When I was back in college, money was tight every month, >>I just couldn't afford any good quality cels back then. >>But now, I'm working full-time, so I have enough money to >>buy the good cels like over a 100 or 200 bucks. ROFLMAO - I *AM* a college undergrad and I have to say, that's the funniest thing I've heard in a while. :) It depends on how much over $100 or $200 you're talking about, but I routinely pay that and more for my cels! Unfortunately, in this hobby, you either have to fork over lots of money for a cel or pass it up. :( xane |
