Inkjet are using the same kind of technic as you describe to apply ink. A termal transfer printer use wax instead A termal sublimating printer will sublimate very small amount of wax/paint which is then condensed and forced through a screen. Even if it use paint, the result isn't the same as someone actualy using a brush to make a painting. There is a "texture" and "density" missing. (which also mean that you don't have to use a 1 litter paint cartridge for printing a page :) So what I am wondering is if those stuff look like a real cel when you look at their back. From what you say, I would expect not... What about those chroma-cel stuff ? (I never saw one in RL :). Cheers, Y.S. |
