In memory of Peanuts and Charles Shultz... (Tue Jan 4 12:18:13 2000

As many of you out there (especially here in the US, not too sure about outside the US) know that Charles Shultz, the creator of Peanuts was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. Monday was his last official comic strip as he is retiring. I just wanted to hear of anyone else's reactions, feelings on his retirement, and his last strip. With his career spanning 50 years there isn't anyone that at one time or another hasn't, or had the option to read his comics (save outside US, not sure if it is/was published there). I can remember as a kid sitting with my dad reading Peanuts every sunday and always hoping that someday Charlie Brown would kick that football! Ever since then I'd loved the comic strip and his cartoons. I'm just glad that I was able to purchase some peanuts items, a nice movie cel and one of snoopy fighting the Red Baron. Items I will treasure as much as my best anime cels. For you fans and readers', what would you have liked to have seen in the last strip? Personally I thought it would have been great if Snoopy finally shot down the red baron..... Brian |
