Well, I often frame my cels, and I have the framer put the pencil drawing in a clear
pouch on the back so I can see it if I take the picture off the wall. I do this
simply because it's too expensive to have the sketch framed next to the cel, as the more space
you use, the higher the price. Personally, I don't like the effect of putting the pencil sketch
under the cel, and I worry about the two eventually sticking from
being pressed together. As for your watercolor, it's probably safe enough, but
the question is do you want to take the chance? If it's a really, really, nice cel that
you'd have to commit seppuku if it got ruined, then don't, otherwise, go for it if
you like the effect. Another tip: double matting often brings out the colors
in a cel better than a single one. Hope this was of some help!
