Update on xylene! DO NOT USE IT! (Sat Mar 4 00:31:52 2000
) Sonia Lai slai@physics.spa.umn.edu |
Dear Forum, Hi, again. I have just been informed by someone who has worked with xylene before. He tells me that xylene is a VERY corrosive and dangerous chemical to work with that can corrode/dissolve simple polymers like acetate! So if you get something signed with a xylene pen, within 5-10 years, it will make a hole in the shape of the signature! So, if you get your acetate signed STAY AWAY FROM PENS/MARKERS WITH XYLENE IN IT (It's usually those smelly markers that tell you it is harmful to breath them!)! Thanks again to the person who e-mailed me about this information! I greatly appreciate it! Sincerely, Sonia |
