Because they know Americans don't really know the current
prices in Japan, so they can jack up any price that they
want. In fact, almost everything in the LA branch is
selling two to five times more. Let's say a Urusei Yatsura
cel that I saw in Japan a few months ago for 4000 yen
(around $35), they jack up the price to $100 in the LA
branch, it's the exact same cel. Same thing for their
toys and artbooks, the prices are expensive. Their manga
are probably the most fairest priced items in the store. |
