>(I'm sure you have all seen them, like with the picture drawn in black behind it) > Does this bring the value down much? You might be talking about the pencil sketch. This is a pencil drawing of usually the black outlines of the cel image. It can also be colored to show changes in color of the same object due to highlight shadow or other special things (this is done with a light colored pencil). If you see it behind the cel that might mean that it is stuck to the cel (although you should ask to be sure.) If the pencil is stuck to the cel that generally brings the price down, though not certainly because there are _so_ many factors that affect cel prices and some cels don't even come with 'pencils' at all these days. Also, some cels don't have a full drawing because none was ever made (so obviously, it's always preferable to have a full pencil drawing...though remember the pencils aren't really worth anything on their own, so take that into account). Also, the condition of the pencil...sometimes they have paint on them or are ripped, obviously this isn't as good. Pencils can be removed from cels too and this has been described before in the forum, so you could just search for the postings. I hope this helps. ^_^ Keys |
