Yes : plexiglass doesn't offer any protection against
UV except with it has a special coating...

Hmm, I think that it's possible to buy spray that you
apply on a glass to add a anti-UV coating. It's used
sometime for photography. It's much cheaper than
buying already coated glass but it's probably less
good also...
