I always try to identify what scene the cel was used.
Someone would have to have taken a lot of time, either
have the original sketch or be a fantastic artist and be
an expert paint matcher(or stole original paint) to fake
a cel if can place where it was used.
Of course, some studios also mark their cels.
AIC started doing this(but plenty were released before
AIC started imprinting). Studio Pierrot marked cels sold
at their 25th anniversery sale - but plenty of FY and other
Pierrot cels are out that were not sold at that sale so
not marked. |
