I've been a cel collector for all of three months, and I have been pondering
the same thing.  I'd desired to visit Japan for a while now, since a 
friend told of his grand time there in grad school, and I envisioned 
returning to the U.S. with loads of anime merchandise (originally intended
keeping all for myself, of course ^_^; ) and selling it in a futile attempt 
to try to recoup the travel costs.  That seemed impossible, but once I 
"discovered" cels, I noticed that there appears to be a fair sized 
contingent of people who are making their own business on the Internet 
selling cels, some who casually mention their trips to Japan!

So, do any of you freelancers have any suggestions?  Do you get stock through
importers, or travel to Japan personally?  Are there easily accessible 
wholesale vendors in the U.S., Japan, Europe, or is the system set up such
that it only really possible to resell retail purchases?  And what kind of 
monetary pit would any new e-merchant expect to fall into just thinking about 
something like this?

I figure with the kind of interest that's cels are starting to generate, and 
the sheer volume of output by the Japanese animators, it wouldn't hurt
anyone's business, and could actually help the cel "industry" in the long run,
to get more people interested in this area.  So share!  Please?
