Thoughts of a cel dealer:


Hi!

I have sold cels for as high as $300us before.  I am by no means the high end of cel dealers.  

I have seen cels go in Japan for as high as $800-900US my self and seen some priced as high as just over $1000.

I will often buy cels in Japan for over $100 or $150 for resale.    It is hard to get good cels these days for under $40 unless you get them right from the company that made the anime.  

This cel for example:

I bought it for... well, alot more than $40 and I am not sure I will be able to get what I paid for it on my site so I will have to auction it.  Now that is a risk.  The point is I had to fly to Japan, spending the time and money to get it and take all the chances.  What would you say is just compensation for that? 

Now compare this busness to say a deli where the the cost to make the product is 15% of the resale price.  There is really very little risk, after all we all have to eat.  They don't have to brave the down town Tokyo at rush hour or fly half way around the planet to get bread.  

I think I may be in the wrong busness...  Anyone want to buy a on line cel busness?
