A pan cel is l-o-n-g! Much longer than a regular cel (I have one of Kaolinite :). They can be used when the camera scans (panning) from a characters feet to their head (or the other way around) or across a landscape, etc. This way, the artists don't have to make cels of each of the parts of the shot, they can just move the camera across one cel. Of course, the other advantage to this is that you can get *really* big shot of your favorite characters with pan shots. As an example, my Kaolinite pan cel is 10 1/2 inches long by 15" tall. xane |
