Re: Mangaya Auction Question (Mon Apr 19 03:19:00 1999

I just read the Mangaya "agreement." I had no idea this "auction" process was going on, only knew that they had reopened. That process SUCKS. I get upset when a cel I want is all ready sold (ie. I still want those Rubeus cels from Fan-animecells! whomever got them, please write! we can work out a deal!!!). I think most collectors are the same way - you see something you "must have," and then find out you can't have it. What a crush to the ego. Plus, it makes the hobby seem so much more frustrating. However, that's life. And when you are able to get a cel you want (and you know other people wanted, too) you like the cel even more. That's why collections are so cool - because you know you have a bunch of nice cels that you (and others) love. However, the "first-come-first-serve" idea tends to be the best here. Maybe it's not always fair (at least in the eyes of those who don't spend 20 hours a day in front of the computer checking and rechecking cel dealers' sites... ie. me!), but it seems to be the best way. Whomever ordered it first, and has the funds to cover it, gets the cel. This whole idea of "cel to the person with the most money" is... pardon my language... CRAP! That sounds like money- motivated greed that the government would cook up to cover the debt. :P I personally don't like auctions much anyway, but use them when I can think of no other way to sell an item. Once you've set a price - well, honey, that's the price. I don't think I'll be using Mangaya's "auction site." Lady Z |
