The difference between 'Sale' & 'Sell' (Sun May 16 18:22:24 1999 )
The Sensei

Recently I've noticed that many people are getting the words
'Sale' and 'Sell' mixed up.

'Sale' is a noun; for example:
I have something for Sale on my website.
or
My cels are on 'Sale'.

'Sell' is a verb; for example:
I want to Sell something.
or
Will you Sell this to me?

It's easy to get these words mixed in some southern United
States type accents, where the two words may sound similar
with the long pronounciation of the 'e' in some words making
it sound more like an 'a'.
But it really baffles me as to how anyone else can get the
two pronounciations mixed up as in most regions the words
are pronounced quite differently.

Just my two yen, here; thank you for reading.
