I know this isn't very helpful, but if you have seen a lot of douga (normal pencil sketches which come with cels), then genga is very obviously different. Douga has very clear and darker lines, because it is what is used to make the lines on the acetate of the cel. The genga is the art upon which the douga is based. I saw some Miyazaki genga and it was so beautiful I wanted to cry. There is a much freer line quality and the pencil lines are not usually so dark as douga. Just in general. If you've seen douga, you will recognize genga when you see it. Ryochan |
