It will be the Yaohan Plaza in Torrance, CA.
Mandarake originally planned to open an actual
store in Torrance/Gardena area, but since they don't
know the market well here, they will try out this
small store space in Yaohan Plaza first and see how
it will do. Mandarake not only sells manga, but they also
carries variety of anime merchandises like CD, posters, and
toys...etc. Plus Mandarake mainly deals with USED artbooks
and mangas, so it won't be a direct competition with
the Asahiya bookstore there which they sell the brand new
stuffs. If you want the latest issues of Japanese magazines
and mangas, you will have to go to Asahiya Bookstore.
If you want the old magazines like printed in the 80s
or 90s, Mandarake will be the choice. |
