I agree with you on some points, though I have to admit that it's hard to listen to somebody preaching that the sheep shoudln't talk when they seem "sheepish" to leave an email address themselves. After all, your post is still anonymous, but as it's not flaming, I guess it's okay. Please don't take offense, I'm just trying to make a point. Actually, I think that it's not quite this way. I think it's just random chance when people on either side of the battle check this forum and decide to post. If you look carefully, you'll see there are posts from each side at all sorts of times (often it's hard to notice because people think in trees and threads visually and don't check the time stamps) However, I believe that pointless posts and just plain bashing are pointless. Posts meant to bring more information (in the form of new ideas, more evidence for either side etc etc) are needed in helping people form their own opinions. Lastly, don't jump to the conclusion that the first people to post are always the flamers and the last are always the protectors. Often times, the first post is a bit irrational, but in some cases, it has been just a note, a questions, or an experience. I realize a lot of badmouthing happens that probably shouldn't, but to say that starting up a possible accusation is flaming will block freedom of speech and eventually hurt us all in the end. I would like to believe this forum is about information. So, I hope you mean the person starting the flaming isn't the person starting the discussion. Keys |
