Wow, that's a tough one. Personally I think it is OK to sell 
a background separate from a cel. I have done so myself and here 
is my reasoning, for what it is worth. I love certain backgrounds, 
especially from Ranma and El Hazard. But sometimes that perfect background 
which would look just /gorgeous/ behind a cel that you really like (even though 
it is not the matching background) has a cel of a character you don't like or 
maybe the cel is not a very good one to start out with. I recently sold some cels 
that I had gotten ONLY because I liked the background. It occurred to me that rather than 
sitting unloved in my 'misc not favorites' celbook that someone could probably get them 
for a reasonable price that would enjoy them. I had already separated the cels from the 
backgrounds so that they would not damage the backgrounds any more than they already were.
